Filmmaker Valerie Udeozor and AHF Celebrate Nurses Week 2018 with Burned Out Nurse Screening

CALLING ALL NURSES DOCTORS &HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS! REGISTER TODAY! 
In honor of National Nurses Week 2018 they are kicking things off with a fun filled event sponsored by AIDS HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION BLACC! We will eat, drink & be merry as well as screen the short film BURNED OUT NURSE about a seemingly perfect nurse who becomes addicted to opiates. Wellness discussion with filmmaker and Nurse Valerie Udeozor and important crucial info from AHF reps on how Nurses can be better better informed  advocates for patients, educating us on healthcare bills and informing us of AHF resources to share with our patients.

BURNED OUT NURSE IS AN OFFICIAL SELECTION OF THE BLACK HOLLYWOOD SE MANLY FILM FESTIVAL

Burned Out Nurse, a short film edited by BLUNTFORCE DRAMA Sr. Editor, Doreen Blunt will have its Official Screening and World Premiere at the African American Film Marketplace & S.E. Manly Short Film Showcase. The film was written and directed by Valerie Udeozor and produced by Shondrella Avery, Narlyia Sterling and Kristofer Cross. The film will be shown at Raleigh Studios in the CHAPLAIN Theater5300 Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, CA 90038 on Saturday April 28, 2018 at 6 pm for the Premiere and will be shown again on Sunday April 29, 2018 at 2:30 pm. Blunt Force Drama LLC is pleased to announce that we finished post-production services on U-Care’s, β€œBurned Out Nurse”, a short film written and directed by Valerie Udeozor.  Film was produced by Shondrella Avery, Narlyia Sterling and Kristofer Cross and edited by Doreen Blunt. Director of Photography was Erica Chan.

 

This film tells the story of a registered nurse's journey from being a stellar health care provider, wife and mother to becoming a prescription drug addict. Welcome to the United States of opiates.  Doreen Blunt said, β€œWorking with screenwriter and director Valerie Udeozor was a collaborative process and it was a pleasure to help bring her vision to life.  She skillfully combines humor with drama to shed light on stories that are current and important to us all.”

 

The film is now undergoing color correction by colorist Nick Martineau and sound mix by Cresent Haynesand will have its’ premiere screening on September 21, 2017 at Pasadena City College in Room 126 10:00am.  Watch this space for more screenings near you.
